We discuss retired Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood’s appointment as the alliance’s first Secretary-General, intelligence sharing, military coordination and air-defence cooperation.

Saudi-backed Yemeni forces launched the “Dawn of Yemen” counter-offensive—آپریشن فجرِ یمن—with Saudi-led coalition air support. We examine reported airstrikes, competing claims of advances around Dhubab and Mokha, and the importance of Taiz, Aden and Sanaa. Can coastal gains hold against resistance in Yemen’s mountains?
