Brilliant, courageous, compassionate, empathetic, Intelligent, poignant and most of all: sorely missed.

Imagine someone living at the edge of life, battling a fatal disease, suffering Chemo and its toxicity and still keeping hope at the pinnacle of willpower. Who else but Edward Said could do that ??

We miss you Edward! RIP!

Edward Said was a giant among intellectuals

Beautiful soul, so needed nowadays, I hope Noam Chomsky gets to 100 with the same clear mind, we need these souls.

Said was an amazing human being, not only for Palestinian People as for the humanity

Reading Orientalism for the first time at the age of 35. Never felt more drawn to a mind than yours. Your contributions to enlightenment, emancipation, and humanism will live on forever.

I miss Edward Said, he's dearly missed, he is needed in America & Palestine, we need a new Edward Said.

Edward Said was a a university in himself.

In late May of 2021, this voice from the past echoes greater truth.

What an extremely intelligent and empathetic human being.

He's the philosopher who invented the concepts of, Defining yourself vs "The Other"

I am Jew, but I feel the pain of this man… he is another victim of Human nature… domination and power upon each other… time to time the role changes from one band to another band…

As a Palestinian I wish that he was the leader of PLO .

Wish he could have seen the arab spring and glad he didn't have to see what has just transpired in Gaza and Israel.  A great mind, heart, and spirit.

Ah, so greatly missed.  An intellectual of rare nobility and humility.  Its a privilege to listen to his ideas and perspective on the great peoples of the Middle East.

Edward said deserved a noble peace prize

Best Arabic professor ❤
