Khan Tengri is one of the world’s most beautiful mountains and most iconic 7,000 meter peaks on Earth. This is the full 4K expedition documentary of my climb into the heart of the Tien Shan.
In the summer of 2026, I returned to Kyrgyzstan for another Khan Tengri expedition. After my first attempt to climb this legendary 7,010 meter peak in 2021, I knew I had to come back to the Tien Shan for another climb.
From Bishkek, we traveled deep into the Tien Shan by Soviet era Mi 8 helicopter and landed at 4,000 meters on the enormous North Inylchek Glacier. From there, our mountaineering expedition began.
We spent days acclimatizing before starting the climb towards Camp 1 and Camp 2. The route took us across glaciers and steep mountain ridges, with sections of snow, ice and rock climbing high above the North Inylchek Glacier.
Our goal was Khan Tengri, but the climb also took us towards Pik Chapayev, with incredible views of the surrounding Tien Shan mountains and Pik Pobeda, the 7,439 meter giant and highest mountain in Kyrgyzstan.
At more than 5,000 meters, every step becomes a challenge. Thin air, extreme cold, heavy backpacks, steep climbing, changing weather and avalanche danger are all part of a high altitude mountaineering expedition like this.
This documentary follows our journey deep into the Tien Shan, from the helicopter flight to the North Inylchek Base Camp, through the acclimatization and climbing, and towards one of the most spectacular 7,000 meter peaks in the world.
This is my return to Khan Tengri.

If I may give you a hint. It is better to arrive to BC acclimatized. There is plenty of 5000m peaks around in Kirghistan - you should try one before attempting this mountain.
