LOVE being transported into your space and time. The clarity of the video work, the subtle soundtrack, the quirky editing, and especially the narration are all so integral to this experience which is so hard to find in other media. Nice work as always!!!

I've got to say that I thought you were just a guy that liked lakes. The editing is epic, the shots you've kept in and for the duration you've kept them in for are perfect. It feels like I'm camping with you. Then there's the music and journey. It's absurd how you can make a relaxed camping vid be so entertaining. I'm currently binge watching all vids.

I love that you're a serious person and not a vain douche like seemingly every other outdoor channel.  Thank you.

Just taking a break from editing, to watch your latest adventure.  We both thought it was mighty impressive just making it to your trip.  I think I would have turned around and started the trip a day later.   So much work winter camping.  Quite a contrast between the Yukon river footage we're working through currently, where it's 30 degrees with thick forest fire smoke at times, to your -20 on frozen Northern Ontario lakes.  Great trip and edit.  Appreciate all the hard work that goes into these trips.  Thanks for the break.

Boy did I luck out, just sat down to take a break after doing more chores than I cared to, and found this video all ready for me to watch. Another great one. ✌🏽

Thanks John! for uploading when we’re all stuck inside with this crazy wind today in the Great Lakes region

I used to try to explain that sound that the ice made at the 31:00 mark to people, cross between a boom and a howl. I miss hearing that, no more winter nights at the cabin for me. Always look forward to a new video, thanks so much for your dedication.

I really admire how you are able to enjoy these lakes, any time of the year. Your passion for the outdoors is fierce.

I spent more miserable time in the cold than I care to remember in the military. I have never said, “more snow is coming tomorrow thankfully.” I wish I had the time and equipment to enjoy the snow/cold like you do. Many might see your video and assume you’re always happy in it…impossible. There are times your legs hurt, your toes are done, your hands are useless, and your body just wants to shut down…it’s not all smiles and warm fire, and it will kill you fast if you’re not prepared/knowledgable. I love your videos. No offense but I often fall asleep to them because you are calm and just at peace in the elements. I remember being so cold in 3’ of snow in the mountains of Afghanistan, standing over a hole in a mud roof with dung burning inside, trying to get any heat I could from that mini fire inside the house. Wind kicked up that night on guard and felt like dry ice on my face in the turret. I tried to secure a poncho liner around my shoulders and over the gunners hatch to keep the guys inside the truck from freezing but ammo cans can only do so much to cover draft holes. Miserable cold…issued cold weather boots were too uncomfortable to wear and good boots were unauthorized, so we wore summer boots in the snow. My big toes got frost nip that day and randomly go numb or feel like needles…MUCH respect for what you do brother. I can’t move far enough South to be warm enough year round. Hahahahaha

The love and passion you have for both filming and spending time with nature just oozes out of these incredible videos. Thank you for both filming and sharing your experiences, they are a real gift.

Another masterclass video…your editing skills are once again on display…truly separating you from other similar channels of this genre. Thank you John for this amazing content you share with all of us!
Cheers 🍻🤗🏕️🌄

you got my because your not like all the others who go camping and spend half the video filming themselves stuffing food into their mouth or constantly going on about and drinking nothing but beer. Keep it going mate

sun hitting the rock face is amazing @ 4:30

Beautiful video. I like the sounds the ice makes. Thank you.

Always enjoy watching your winter excursions Jon! My lineage is Canadian❤so my hopes are always for peace with our Canadian neighbors!Always look forward to yours and Erin’s videos! Lost Lakes is my go-to channel! Very calming after a long day of work! Thank you both!

Sometimes things don't always go as planned, ya just gotta make the best of it, and still have a good time.

Even your sleds know where to go by themselves 😂

Thanks Jon, for bringing winter to our balmy southern Ontario. This was like candy after a hunger strike.

That pack-up must be the hardest.  Thanks for this, always a pleasure to watch!

Jon great job as always. I love all the time you spend capturing the landscape shots, and the night shots along with the sounds. Each is its own piece of art. So beautiful. You are very talented. Cheers.
