Only a master, a genius like Galliano could pull this off. The construction, the colours, the details. The amount of work that went into this collection is insane. You can tell he loves and respect the Japanese culture. I love McQueen but Galliano is the one.
I am probably repeating myself but this show is one of the best ever! I can not imagine how much work they put into those looks. John's imagination is unbelievable. It's creme de la creme of couture! I wish there was a documentary about creating this collection.
I miss these days of haute couture. Today's haute couture seems like a selfie. This show is a prime example of how haute couture is like a painting. Time creates beauty and in itself becomes art. Creativity of the upmost tier to show a fashion house's best.
I love Dior in general, I love what every main designer (not so the interim designers) has brought to the brand (truly!). From Yves to Maria, they all brought a different side out that is so evocative of the time they were designing in and still so very Dior. But John... my god John is really the gold standard. A designer that truly understood the meaning of fashion as a vehicle for dreams and beauty and flights of fancy. Thank you for all the HD videos!
I'm liking the new way, now that you've paired the backstage along with the show footage, making it all the more holistic ... perfect way to experience such spectacles...
The only show/collection that has managed to make me cry, the beauty is staggering. The storytelling, the setting, the music, all perfect. With this production, Galliano created a moment that will live in my memory forever. This is what haute couture is all about.
Still one of the most beautiful, poetic, spiritually fulfilling collections I have ever watched, this is the 20th time I see the entire thing and can't avoid getting shivers. Long life to Mr. Galliano
This is what Dior should be, Maria Grazia's Dior is devoid of any sense of romance. Christian Dior's entire vision was built around elegant flower-like silhouettes, rich draping, and innovation! Anyone can design a straight-line skirt with a frumpy 'bar jacket' (I use the term loosely to describe the designs of MGC), and throw some flowers on it. NOT everyone can design the bias-cut masterpieces in this collection, nor can they so ingeniously interpret the iconic bar jacket in so many different ways. The level of work put into the origami details is mind blowing and timeless. The embellishments are perfectly and meticulously placed with INTENT, the color palette is cohesive AND varied, I could go on and on and on. This collection is the greatest thing that John Galliano ever did (and will probably remain so), and Maria Grazia's entire body of work pales in comparison to this one single collection.
