They never tried to make another cop show like NYPD. The show was unmatched. I'm glad that so many episodes are on Youtube. Some of the best acting ever seen on TV.
Lost Israel is easily one of, if not the best, episode of NYPD Blue. It makes you feel everything: anger, relief, sadness all across the two parts of the episode. Andy taking himself off the case, Bobby drawing the father out little by little and Diane doing everything she can to gently encourage the mother to come forward. It's just amazing. People can have their Game of Thrones, or Walking Dead, this show is amongst the greatest to grace television. Cop show and otherwise.
I watch these from time to time and remember when really good acting took precedence over all else when it came to a show of this caliber. They don't make 'em like that anymore. It's a shame, too. There's a chemistry between all the actors, and the stories are so realistic and even though the crimes are gruesome and twisted, they are one hundred percent human. Great writers, great actors, great show.
