I hate to be devils advocate. I appreciate the video very much for history’s sake. The date should be August 15, 1977 in Fort Worth. I researched Mid Atlantic gateway under Harley Race’s matches, and it indicated that there was no match listed for December 24, 1977. Thanks, B
This is the kind of matches David Bin Erich should have been allowed to have more often. I wished he’d had the chance to wrestle before sold out crowds in Greensboro and the Omni.
David was greener than the green lines on his shorts and socks. Very basic offence, some lengthy armbar segments where he isn't doing anything interesting with those holds, very methodical execution of moves, some moments where he gets visibly confused regarding what to do next.
Also, it really pays off to be the promoter's son, as David, who's 2 months into his wrestling career is apparently already the Rookie Of The Year, wrestles the World Champion to a time-limit draw, without dropping a fall, and then gets praise from the World Champion at the end of the match.
There was something here with David, but he was still super green for what they were trying to achieve in this match.
