there are 4 different types of pieces now:

1. elementary pieces: pieces that only move a limited amount of squares, the most common ones are ferz, wazir and knight
2. riders: pieces that can technically move an infinite amount of squares in a direction, for example rook, bishop or knightrider
3. combinations: pieces that combine the moves of two or more pieces, like the empress, archbishop or amazon
4. heavy pieces: pieces that are a combination of two same riders. their movement doesn't change, but the have the ability to attack another piece that can move like them undefended, because they disable that movement. for example when a heavy bishop attacks an archbishop, the archbishop can only move like a knight because its bishop moves are disabled

Finally a rook rider can be more useful than a rook that can split into 2
