I'm mexican and don't know shit about hockey, but I'm here because I play goalie in soccer and I believe goalkeeping is an art;  you play as the last man, responsible for the entire team, waiting in your penalty area as a caged wolf, putting yourself in front of flying projectiles. A save is the most heroic act you can witness in any sport.

Who else watches this every week and never gets bored of it

“You’ll never see anything better than that!”
Sees better save 4 seconds later

The players, the scoreboards, the commentators..so much nostalgia. This was right around when I was old enough to appreciate hockey.

What would life be without hockey?

2:51 he reminds me of a cat checking to see if he caught the laser lol.

Commentator: "And he scores!"
Goaltender: "Ehm, hold my beer..."

I lost my confidence as a goalie a couple months ago and quit. But watching this made me remember some of the amazing saves I’ve made and how good it felt and now I’m ready to get back into it next season

6:42
My brother always does that to me in NHL 19

I still come back to this video watched it for the first time in 2018

1:06 I remember watching this as a kid live and I still can’t get over this save

4:22 I was there and I couldn’t believe how insane the save was, I was freaking out.

I am Czech and so proud of Dominik Hašek appearing more times in this video than any other goalie.

I think Hasek was the goalie in at least 5 or 6 of these clips. Hasek was easily one of the best ever and he was so unique in the way that he played too. Snipers could not figure him out he was so unorthodox he would just stop the puck anyway he could.

3:58 Definitely the best save I've ever seen. In under a second, the goalie moves from the left of his goal, attempting a save on his right, to making a glove save an arm's length behind him. It all happens so fast I'd wager 99% of the time all the best NHL goalies wouldn't even get eyes on the puck before it was in the net. But he does, and despite his momentum moving away from the goal, manages to throw himself backwards and reach precisely where the puck ends up, just on the line.

It says something when players on both teams can't quite believe the save.

Who else was young thinking that this was a good pump up

Hasek almost made him do a full front flip! 😂

Classic Hasek "roll over" save, haha.

1:49 I still remember that save by Fleury.  Absolutely amazing.

People don't give Rinne enough credit. He's an amazing goalie
