The logistics property and Council depot to the north is reclaimed land previously the be timber basins (ponds) for the Caledonian Saw Mill (Muirhead and Sons c.1900) next door. Grangemouth Saw Mills located to the north, now Dalgrain Industrial Estate. The timber basins predate the saw mills by decades with channel and locks continuing north to the docks. Railway footbridges were located at both ends and footpath between the basin and saw mill, now the angled fence line.
The area today is quite different from the many timber basins and railway trackage servicing the saw mills and the docks to the north.
