Several guys at my club, have this baby...
And they are "screamin" through the sky, doing full aerobatics.
And I've built several pusher planes, that look like the full size ultralights.
The pushers definitely have more thrust, and less drag, than a tractor style...

Very freaky. This popped up on my YT feed, and it reminded me of when my Dad took me to see RC planes fly. So, I clicked on the link. Very surprised to see that this is the exact same park my Dad took me to about 50 years ago!!! I grew up in Kirkwood. Thanks for reminding me of a forgotten memory. Really enjoyed the video.

No better RTF trainer on the market, and its super capable when you get more advanced. This was great, Will - "I'm going to follow the instructions" - proceeds to ignore them several times, lol. I get it though, when you have experience you just kinda get after it. Great vid bud, lots of great info for a new pilot.

When I was a youngster, I assembled Balsawood model airplane in our basement during the day. This was before everybody had AC, and our basement was the coolest place in the house. The engine was primarily a 0.49. In the evening, when the winds were calm, we would go up to the church parking lot and fly the airplanes that we had made that day. This activity kept me out of trouble when I was preteen and teenager.

The Aeroscout was my 3rd plane a few year's ago , despite the prop noise I'm still so so in love with Her ! Goofy can be cool ! I think the way she is set up with docile tendency ( low / high rates in safe) is absolutely brilliant for a newbie ... almost a garenteed good first experience out of the box ! The only one negative thing I will say is the potential to get the battery cable or balance leed hooked up with the servo linkages when installing the battery , just something to watch for if we're unaware of it .... By far the best plane, this was my 1st plane and is my go to flyer. The front wheel was a weak point if you had to many rough landings, They since upgraded it. my 1st fuselage had around 20 crashes on it before the front wheel broke off LOL. And great job of showing how to prepare a plane for flying, I get sick of the safe sucks stuff, Safe is a training tool! and if you understand how it works it is amazing! in fact Safe taught me how important the rudder is. We have guys at our club that bought the Aeroscout after seeing me fly it. Some guys have modded their scouts to tail draggers and even EDF. Amazing plane to learn on and abuse once you get stick time under your belt. Horizon needs to keep the Scout at an affordable price which is another reason it is such an awesome plane, you crash it glue it back together fly it even harder! and not worry about it like it is a $500-1000 plane.

I used to love RC flying with my several planes. But old now and I would lose that little plane too easy. That is why I started flying drones. Still love to watch.

This was my beginner plane in 2020. Crashed it a few times but it still flies great. Glue and all. It really should be your first plane having the rear motor and prop that is protected. Even after adding 6 more planes to my collection, I loved this plane so much, that I added a brand new one to the line up. It’s a wonderful plane to start the flying season with after a long winter off without flying.

Re. the Aeroscout, I too have one and I think it's a Great, Amazingly simple plane to fly. It glides surprisingly well, it just Floats.. I fly mine gently and easily get 13 min flights with unused power in the pack. I find the factory Dual rate of 70%(?) to be too much as it barely makes banked turns.
I still think that the Volantec Ranger 600 Sport is probably the Best plane for someone to learn to fly on who has Zero experience as it's light, no landing gear, hand launched, and is basically a 50% version of the Aeroscout.

I think that a great 3rd plane for people to evolve into is the FMS PA-18 1300mm SuperCub.
