I told my husband 15 years ago that two people addicted to the same thing cannot sober up together so we broke up.  I left.  He dated someone else and i married someone else.  I eventually sobered up.  Two years after that i got a call from one of his brother's and they told me if i didn't come get him he would die.  I drove 800 miles mostly to come get him but told him i was on vacation... which i was.  He ended up going back up north with me and sobered up.  He's alive and we have a beautiful daughter together.

I will always remember her healthy, smiling and friendly.  Just as she was when she started her career.

Ooo, I’ve always found this story interesting and incredibly sad. Amy is to this day one of my favourite singers ever.

When they divorced he didn’t ask for a single penny from her. If he was just after her money to buy drugs he would have fought for every dime he could get from her. He loved her, she loved him. They were both addicts. Both of their parents wanted to lock them up and force them to get help. The problem with two addicts getting together is that they either die together, or one gets clean and the other doesn’t. They rarely get clean together, and stay clean. The problem is everyone wanted Amy to be the one who got clean and lived. Instead it was Blake who got clean and is alive. So that makes him a very very easy scapegoat.

Rest in peace now, Angel.  You're loved.

I believe we underestimate the emotional impact of domestic arguments and separation of parents on children. Amy felt the separation and loss of her father's  presence and i wonder if this has made her dependent on Blakes love and the separation from him so unbearable. She seemed too young and too vulnerable to love herself first. I think she was brilliant and much loved by us all.

They were both so young and while he's survived and learned from all the mistakes he made, she was used by her management to keep the lucrative show on the road.

Fame and drugs are a terrible combination.

Amy sadly drank before and after Blake. And that was her cause of de*th. They were both addicts who fed off each other side, but they also loved each other.

It's actually so common for people in active addiction to couple up and be codependent. Nobody was to blame here. It was a relationship that she had that was serious- they were married. Certainly not her legacy. She was an exceptionally naturally talented musician, with or without Blake.

I love the way the narrator sounds so unimpressed by everything!

Another good vid, appreciate the hardwork. As for the subject matter; 2 damaged individuals fall in love and cause more damage to each other. Sad tale, tragic end.

Blaming him for her death is not fair. She knew that the hard drugs could make her life difficult. She had no responsibility for herself, she was in love, very much so. She couldn't set limits for herself when it came to alcohol and drugs. She was and will always be my favorite singer, a beautiful soul, a beautiful person. She should have recognized early on what was wrong with her. I miss you so much Thank you for being so authentic and emotional. Thank you for every song you sang... I hope you're doing well where you are.

Awwwwww she died of a broken heart 💔 🥺

She couldnt cope without Blake and she fell apart she missed and needed him 😢😢😢

It’s a trauma bonded, toxic, abusive relationship

So many people failed this poor girl.

Don't do drugs kids.

Amy was an addict before Blake. Whitney was an addict before Bobby. Both singers were high drama and wanted bad boys

She was self destructive. Considering  that she was 27, at her time of death, and she had cirrhosis  of the liver,  that was very excessive.  Sad!
