Hi Alex. Just tried this after seeing video. Best iron practice lesson I have ever had. I am 66 years old and its changed my iron shots completely.

You know I've been watching your channel for months now. Yesterday I tried swinging more of the angle you have the new way. I also put my shaft just a tad more left at the Range yesterday. I couldn't believe how much better my ball strikes are a lot better! Thank you Alex!😎😎😎😎😉

Watching this now for the third time, once again before heading straight to the range. I played a game yesterday and saw a DRAMATIC improvement to my score using this approach. Thanks to Alex and Anders for this one. It's a really valuable lesson.

I've been watching any lessons with Anders and today I went outside to try some things. 24 degrees Fahrenheit with several inches of snow on the ground! Used my 54 degree wedge gripping down and taking half swings. This is normally my 50 yard pitch in warm weather. I focused on limiting lower body movement in back swing. I also rotated my lead forearm away from the target line when it reached about waist high. First half dozen shots were bad. But then, suddenly I hit the ball solid, straight toward the target and after a few shots that went about 45 yards they started landing 50 to 55 yards with a feeling of control and power. I normally impact my club face near the heel. With the changes I'm hitting the center. Can't wait for warm weather!

Omg as I watched this, i grabbed my 60° and 4 iron and did a little practice in my living room and not only could I feel the difference but ......
Because my carpet is quite soft where I imagined the ball was I was hitting the carpet after the ball "taking a divot" which I never do 😁😁😁
Got a round on Sunday and now I can't wait!!

i'm a super beginner golfer with not the greatest equipment but I have so much fun watching your videos (and danny maude's as well - but you're the only 2 i watch) but i'll stop part way through and go out and try these things and hit balls at my net. good stuff!!

I noticed it. I heard a golf announcer say that some pro had to make a shot using a “hooded six” to keep from hitting a tree, so I tried it. Little did I know that by doing so I started hitting my irons properly. My game is 50% talent, 50% guesswork and 100% DUMB LUCK. (Christ, I totally suck at golf.) 😂😂😂

So, is Alex just pushing his hands forward or does he have more body rotation with a lagging club head? Or, are the both the same and it is only a point of personal observation? From Anders comment about the chest rotation, it sounds like it is body rotation with a lagging club head.

If your range has TopTracer or TrackMan - see the ball launch angle, then pull up the LPGA trackman numbers (good for amateur male golfers) and compare the launch angle - they're sending it 27 degrees average for pitching wedge , it's really tough to do. Edit: the hands left, not forward is super helpful, been shaking it while practicing this :)

Tried this Saturday and hit my irons so pure of the tee I was shocked just need to spend a bit more time on it and re do my club gapping as a result so thank you for posting this
