🇳🇵 NEPAL BREAK INTO THE TOP 6! A MASSIVE WIN AGAINST CANADA! 🔥🏏
Nepal have climbed from 7th to 6th in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 standings after defeating Canada by 24 runs in a crucial encounter in Oman! With 26 points, Nepal have moved one point ahead of Canada—and kept their Top 6 ambitions alive.
The hero of the day was Rohit Paudel, who smashed a magnificent 101-run century under pressure. Coming in when Nepal were struggling at 56/3, Rohit rebuilt the innings and became the first Nepali cricketer to score three ODI international centuries. Gulshan Jha played a brilliant supporting role with 48 off just 34 balls, helping Nepal post 235.
The bowlers then completed the job! Captain Sandeep Lamichhane delivered two crucial wickets for 33 runs, including a decisive double strike. Lalit Rajbanshi and Karan KC picked up important wickets, Nandan Yadav made an impact on his return from injury, and Dipendra Singh Airee produced a brilliant run-out.
🔥 In this match analysis:
Rohit Paudel’s record-breaking century and response to criticism
Gulshan Jha’s selfless, explosive batting
Sandeep Lamichhane’s captaincy and crucial double strike
Lalit Rajbanshi’s spell and Karan KC’s big wickets
Nandan Yadav’s comeback and the captain’s trust
The turning points that sealed Nepal’s 24-run victory
Nepal’s rise to 6th place and the road ahead in League 2
Nepal’s comeback may have arrived later than expected after a difficult Netherlands and UAE tour, but this victory brings fresh hope. The challenge now is consistency. Can Nepal maintain this momentum and strengthen their position in the race for the Top 6?
One win, two crucial points, and a renewed belief in Nepal cricket! 🇳🇵❤️🏏
