Over the past year, I’ve personally visited 10 French cities: Annecy, Besançon, Grenoble, Lille, Metz, Montpellier, Nancy, Reims, Strasbourg and Troyes to answer one question: could I actually live here? After nearly 20 years living in Dijon, France, I have a pretty specific idea of what makes a French city livable, including affordability, walkability, bikeability, public transportation, connectivity, culture and overall quality of life.
