I think 6 out of 8 billion people know Michael Jackson...yet there's loads of people not realizing that he's had the Jackson 5 gig before getting to be the king of pop.

This was the first time Michael and his brothers’ classmates got to see them in action as performers. They started the school year unknown but by the end they were worldwide stars. There is a class picture of Michael and his classmates taken the following Tuesday and you can tell that his classmates saw his performance on that show. They finally got to see who was in their class with them.

Hollywood Palace wasn't Diana Ross' show it was a show that had different host each week. She was just hosting that week.

I disagree that the song is about a toxic longing for a "love lost". It isn't that vibe. It's about him realizing that he wanted the girls he may have lost period, not just lost to someone else. It's more an expression of how loosing someone you didn't realize you love. "The one that got away" feeling/blues. Not a toxic situation guys 😉
