New York's Meatpacking District from the 1970s to the early 2000s: Transgender women of color built a deeply supportive street community and safety network while being excluded from mainstream employment. TRANSGIRLS (and boys) HAVE EXISTED THROUGHOUT HISTORY.
That's a really good point about the stuff people do nowadays like Ozempic, peptides, TRT, etc. Most people choose to cosmetically alter themselves in one way or another.
In the ancient times people were scarce so they invented rules to maximize fertility and coded it as a divine word. Simple as that. Unfortunately we have to deal with those ancient tribal teachings to this day.
Hi Ray, I’m a progressive Christian and I used to think the way those conservative Christians used to think but slowly I have evolved and God loves you! You are perfect just the way God made you and if being a feminine man is something that makes you happy and joyful do it. I hope you’re able to be at peace and I understand what you’re saying and I see how Christians are very anti-trans and I used to be to the thing that helps them to change but often be interacting with someone like you and just consider considering things from another perspective. It takes a long time for people to change and some people never do. Do what’s best for yourself.
So I think that patriarchy is rooted super deeply in our culture, and in patriarchal beliefs men are above women, and so if a man feminizes himself, he is lowering himself and lowering his status, and this is seen as very unattractive. And it’s far less problematic when a woman wants to dress or manly she’s just called a tomboy and maybe Butch it’s more culturally acceptable for women to present as masculine because they’re upping their status. They’re going from a lower position and trying to up their status in society to a higher position, but when a man tries to be more feminine or non-binary, it is extremely distasteful those of us who like patriarchy and it’s taking me years and I still have to remind myself. This person can be who they wanna be it doesn’t matter who cares they can dress how they want to and I have to constantly remind myself. They’re just trying to live their life. It’s none of your business kind.
I have realized that the culture war between a liberal, matrifocal society, and a very conservative, more hyper masculine society, has been going on for 3000+ years.
The reality is the choice to follow Venus is as valid as choosing to serve Mars or Jupiter. Or whatever other god names you like.
Didn’t you say once you had pulmonary issues or something of that nature that you suspected was related to HRT? I could be misremembering a bit, but you did have some health concerns last time, didn’t you?
Been a subscriber of yours for a number of years. Before you had converted to Catholicism. I enjoy your content. Usually I can relate to what you are processing and communicating, but not so much with this video. Can you name me a non Christian culture that accepts or encourages the feminization of men? Perhaps the femme boy in Thailand? Any others?
So yes, like this sort of super Christian nationalist culture believes that men have to be super masculine. But as we read through the scriptures, Jesus constantly identifies with women and is frequently presenting himself as feminine and even says I wish that I were a mother hen so I could take you Jerusalem under my wing. There’s nothing wrong with being feminine and it’s not inherently a Christian prejudice, although it is super common in Christian spaces, but it also I think lies on Christian patriarchy.
