at 9:00 you pull the backplate with piston at bottom. That will kill your piston if it goes into the backplate at bottom. Always piston to the top with backplates!

Great video, Im glad to see you tinkering with these engines. I have moded engines for years in drag/ oval/ and bashers.
Pinching has been around for a long time. The problem is it done by feel so results will every wildly.
The sleeve material will affect its out come also.
I also tried this as a last option at $15 per sleeve and not one was really usable. One wasn't pinched enough to really be better after it was warmed up. # Two was so tight it trashed rod trying to break it back in. # three was pinched to low just above the exhaust port it wasn't usable.
We had one that did make it to tuning day, but for a racing engine it was to unpredictable.
Bashing it could work, but buy the pinching kit and do it your self!!
RB mods or EB mods or some place sold them. You can share your pinching in videos.

I have a Lee Custom K&B 6.5 engine. It was modified by Clearance Lee with sub-piston induction. That eleven port you have is interesting, but the porting looks kinda rough. You should see Mr Lee's beautiful ports. Super smooth

This is a awesome video covering a subject that is very relevant in the nitro landscape of 2026. There's alot more incentive to put that old savage or buggy etc. back into service for a few gallons of fun, when you don't have to find and/or pay up for new old stock sleeves

I LIKE my K&B Dykes ringed engines... Steel sleeve. You just run a brake hone tool thru the steel sleeve and put some cross-hatch into it, slap the new $12 ring on the existing piston, slap it back together, and it's like new again. One can get SEVERAL rebuilds out of these ringed engines before the bore is considered too sloppy to re-use... 👍
