I like how almost every other sentence is a version of "it was poorly designed and caused many injuries".

I will say, these deaths do prove that Freddy's Pizza could be open irl. People kept going there because it was lit.

21:45 buying new ambulances instead of fixing the park is insane

Defunctland is an excellent choice for reactions. The shorter content is great, but Id recommend some of his longer form content as well, especially "The Disney channel theme:A history Mystery" its in my opinion his best work.

12:00 Yes, they meant cold water, not cool ride. The water for a lot of the waterworld attractions was obtained straight from the streams that went down the mountain; in fact, several of the pools where rides ended were basically just dammed-up areas of a mountain stream. So guests were jumping directly into icy mountain spring water. Saved money and ecologically sound, but not sanitary (who knows what's in those streams) and very, very cold.

The park wasn't made in the 1990's, Berry. It was the 1970's.

Like the baby was supposed to know how to use a handbrake.

20:55 So you tell me that the park didn't close because of the amount of dead and injured people, but because they had fiscal problems? Why am I not even surprised?

When people wonder why there are so many rules and regulations about building stuff, it’s because if there weren’t stuff like this would be common. And it was common when you look at workplace safety back in the day it’s only when enough people die that it becomes cheaper for the companies to improve safety than to pay the families of the victims.

Honestly I am surprised that only 6 people died, and we weren’t told the amount of injuries! The amount of injuries from that park alone must have been insanely high

This video in a nutshell:

Berry: This looks so cool, I would ride that!
Kevin: This is why this was insanely dangerous and you should not ride that.
Berry: Oh D:
Kevin: Another attraction was...
Berry: This looks so cool, I would ride that!

Also, if you want to check out more Defunctland some time, I highly recommend "The History of Coney Island". It has a lot of the host's wonderfully dry sense of humour that we didn't see much of in this episode considering the subject matter.

I love Defunctland, genuinely some of the best content on YouTube.

“I’m scared”

As classic cartoony evil villain music plays in the background.

Never change Berry….never change lol.

1:37 freely doesn’t mean they didn’t have to pay for the beer, just means that the employees wouldn’t check IDs or alert authorities about intoxicated customers
