How are the world's most valuable emeralds extracted? In this documentary, we travel to the mountains of Colombia to learn about the dangerous process of searching for, extracting, and transforming these extraordinary gemstones.

The journey begins in the Muzo mines of Boyacá, a region renowned for producing emeralds of intense green color, exceptional transparency, and immense value. There, miners work in narrow, humid, and stifling tunnels that can reach temperatures exceeding 40°C (104°F).
