I agree with the many reasons people express not voice chatting (slurs, toxicity, passive aggression). I'd like to finish a more scripted video soon for this channel talking more about the positive social dynamics of cooperating, and the many barriers to entry reasonably preventing or discouraging people from communicating.
(I also agree that deadlock tends to make me speak more exasperatedly about people in a way I want to keep in check, cause even though I never trash talk in VC I don't want my videos to carry that air of frustration all the time).
It's not helped by the fact whenever I hear someone talk, half the time their mic is so quiet and distorted that I can't ever tell what they're saying.
I do not communicate. I do not make calls. I do not even consider of using a microphone.
I form a gamer-to-gamer telepathic link where we simply know what we're doing just by looking at each other and cooperate based on that alone. And if i don't: I LOSE.
Ive always said, even having 1 person just saying shit like "hey youre alone, watch out" or "if we get this, we might go mid", and "lets make space/pressure for people on green" instantly increases the likelihood of winning. My friends say I want to micromanage my team in Norms when I queue without them, but if no one calls to push or split, most teams will just fucking farm until the cows come home.
Honestly there's not a group of people I'd rather be in a voice chat with less than MOBA players, so I guess I'm part of the problem. But too many people seem chill while things are going well only to turn into the most racist person alive if a team fight goes badly
