Seems to me Wago needs to get busy and invent a wago-based in-wall junction box. :)

I'm an EE with 3 decades power electronics design. The splice block is using what's called insulation displacement terminations. They are robust and trustable in an application such as this where the cables are not being flexed after the conductors pressed into the forks so tightly they squish the copper conductor a bit and form two gas tight square mating areas opposite each other on the conductor. That is a great connection with a mating area large enough and tight enough to produce a very low voltage drop. I have not seen the numbers but they might have a lower voltage drop than a Wago 221 lever nut that does not deform the conductor this way. You notice that it takes pliers to squash those conductors into the terminals... They are tight and I would not worry about using these when you need to.
You must use the appropriate block that exactly matches the wire gauge

Great video as always. I love using the open splice box. It was super useful when putting up temporary wiring in an outdoor wedding tent. I appreciate the tip on using a 2-gang junction box to make the splice for the damaged wire. Makes it much easier.

Use the traditional with a blank wall plate. Hang a picture over it, it some furniture in front of it, maybe a blanket ladder, or something to hide it.

It is amazing that UL and the NEC except the second method shown . What is even more amazing is that they allow you to bury it inside of a wall and finish over it with drywall, but they do.

I have learned so much from your videos, I'm just a homeowner. Every time i replace a switch or plug the box, it is a rat nest of wires. I've been able to clean them a little by using Wagos when simplifying the pigtails. I had to replace a double gang box with a triple when replacing two switches with two dimmers. This was due to extra circuts being powered off the switches and the physically larger dimmers.

Thank you for this, I didn't know about the splice blocks, I thought there was no way around using a junction box.

I just moved into a new (to me) house and I really want to move a few outlets. This will make my wife a lot happier

In the Netherlands, we don't run single wires through drywall. We mount pvc pipes in the framework and later pull the wires through. We can always get access to every wire.
