Couple things to note. This whole deal happened precisely because WWE is leaving ABEMA.  So expect NJPW's partnerships with CMLL and AEW to stay the same. It's more likely that the WWE and Noah partnership ends. Also, NJPW World is run and owned by TV Asashi dont expect NJPW to end up in Wrestleuniverse. A lot of people left NJPW because Bushi Road kept slashing their budget, and the pay was substantially lower. It's why a bunch of people left to WWE and AEW and Naito ending up in Noah. People like the Goodbrothers have mentioned this as they said NJPW offered them really low pay when they tried to come back and opted to go to Noah instead. I think this change will help quite a lot and will revitalize NJPW in the long run.

It's rarely a good thing when one company gets that much power...

Now is the perfect time for an All Japan renaissance. We need to walk the King's Road once more.

I know monopolies are bad but if I can get another Wrestle Kingdom game out of this with all the promotions they own, my life is theirs. Them Wrestle Kingdom games some of the best ever.

I have been very sad about how far the quality of the NJPW product has fallen since COVID, coupled with all the top stars who have left for AEW or WWE over the past decade. Still, with this new corporate umbrella, I am excited about the potential for NJPW, NOAH, and DDT to do more regular crossovers to help keep rosters and feuds fresh.

NJPW will never get better until they get rid of Gedo as the booker. Other than Covid, the booking has been the biggest issue with that company since 2019/2020.

As a Japanese WWE fan, I feel a sense of crisis about the move from Abema to Netflix. Abema initially employed Shun Yamaguchi and Funaki as commentators, but they were unpopular in Japan. However, they replaced them with more suitable personnel and successfully adapted to broadcasting dramas with Japanese subtitles. Now, however, there are rumors that Netflix will not have Japanese subtitles and that Shun Yamaguchi and Funaki will continue as commentators. If this becomes a reality, it will be a nightmare.　Because WWE is accepted not just as a professional wrestling organization, but also as a drama series like "Game of Thrones." in japan. Netflix probably doesn't understand that. JBL has talked about the possibility of WWE entering the Japanese market, but if they want to make it happen, it's essential to add Japanese subtitles to WWE's television programs. It doesn't matter if it's delayed by a few days. Otherwise, WWE's entry into Japan will end in failure.　Anyway, I'm so tired of Funaki and Yamaguchi's commentary.　They have poor articulation and make a lot of mistakes.

There's no monopoly, considering NJPW will stay under TV Asahi, so they'll dance to the tune of TV Asahi, not CyberAgent. That's the important point.

CyberAgent's angle is more either trying to get some PPV shows on ABEMA, crossover shows (like the Yano vs Super Sasadango Machine series of events) and cross promotion going (so more NJPW/NOAH/DDT crossovers) to promote their service on TV Asahi's feed. For them it's the same as owning NOAH/DDT/TJPW etc. but without the hassle of actually managing it from above, as TV Asahi will now have to do.
