A shunt is a device placed in the brain to help drain the fluid. We were concerned that something could be going wrong with her shunt so Dallas had an MRI to check on things..

Good Afternoon Dallas!
As a 68 year-old with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum, & Colpocephaly, I have had Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scans of my Brain & Upper Spinal Cord.

I have CP as well, and was diagnosed with hydrocephalus in 2002 during an extreme migraine that actuality mimicked a stroke. The ED doc didn't understand how i'd gone my entire life without knowing i had hydrcephalus until i explained to him that MRIs didn't exist in the mid 1960s. 😂 I saw a neurologist who wasn't at all surprised that i have it. I've never needed a shunt, at least not yet. Dallas is definitely an inspiration for me.😊

My daughter had 2 MRIs this year she said its not as scary as you think, and the sounds kind of sounds like rave music or really funny music

When I was Dallas’s age I was scared of MRI’s I used to have to get sedated for it because I wouldn’t stay still but one time my dad told me it’s like laying inside of a giant doughnut😂 I still believe that to this day now that I’m an adult I have a programmable shunt too

I also have a shunt and also have hydrocephalus and am also in a wheelchair . So I kinda know what she is going through. Surgery is so hard. I’ve had 18 brain surgery. I’ve been in the hospital for as long as I can remember . Hopefully her MRI goes well😢

Has Dallas ever walked with a walker outside of the house or anywhere or just in the house? Also, I love her soft, quiet voice. I love our jewelry too
