Let’s explore Donoussa (Hacılar) together, one of the quietest and most pristine Greek islands in the Aegean!

On this peaceful and small island, we explored the island's turquoise beaches on one hand, and experienced the island life reflecting the warm and peaceful atmosphere of Turkey in the 80s and 90s on the other. Even though we didn’t speak each other’s language, we were guests in the homes of sweet aunts and uncles in their 80s and 90s and had pleasant conversations, and we also went to Mersini, one of the island’s villages.

⛵️TRANSPORTATION TO DONOUSSA (HACILAR)

📌 Donoussa can be reached by ferry from larger islands like Naxos and Amorgos, as well as smaller islands near Donoussa such as Koufonisia and Schinoussa. Ferry transportation is also available from Athens.

🛃 VISA

As Turkish citizens, we need to have a Schengen visa to enter Greece. Visas are not required for green passports. Donoussa (Hacılar) is not among the islands with a visa-on-arrival application, so you need to have a Schengen visa before you go.

🏡 ACCOMMODATION IN DONOUSSA (HACILAR)

📌We arranged it last minute. If you can't find accommodation facilities on booking sites, you can find accommodation facilities by typing words like hotel or pension on Google Maps and reach out by phone. Or, after arriving on the island, you can find a place by asking around like we did. :)
