Would have been hilarious if funimation brought in the 4kids voice actors to voice the fake straw hats

4Kids: We can't show characters smoking or drinking!

The Kids Parents: Smoking and drinking openly in front of their kids.

Did you know he came back and did an updated rap for the 1000th episode with all the Straw Hats  and it still is hard as hell. And slaps.

A few things to add here: 4kids actually still exist as 4K Media Inc./Konami Cross Media NY. They now exclusively dub the Yu-Gi-Oh anime after a whole crazy lawsuit.

Also, they did dub the opening, "We Are" when they were showing off the series to investors before ultimately changing it to the pirate rap.

I’m glad that the major consensus is that the rap opening  is legitimately the best thing to come out of this whole thing

0:15 "And Usopp...yyyooouu just be Usopp" Ahh promo 💔⚰️

This is actually how I was introduced to One Piece. Watching it on Toonami.

4kids helmeppo is a flat earther😭🙏

That rap will ALWAYS go hard! 🤧

The 4Kids Dub and Censorship might have made One Piece look incredibly dumb and cheesy to viewers in the West, but if there's one thing everyone can agree on is that the Rap Intro OP really slaps.

captain “chasers” hot breath 😭

I remember seeing this atrocity when I was like 6 or 7. It wasn’t until my early teens that I read the whole manga and got to experience the greatness as it was originally intended.

6:57 he sounds like Patrick star 😭✌️

Here's a fun fact! 4Kids changed Zoro's name to Zolo because they were afraid of getting sued by the Zoro movies and because of this, the official English translation of the manga changed his name too and still call him that to this day. It's one of my biggest pet peeves about the manga

This dub actually stopped me from watching the show for a long time. I changed the channel immediately when OP came on

I have a friend who hated One Piece cuz the 4kids version was all he knew.
Fixed that real quick when I showed him One Pace.

8:16 "Vivi could not believe the shit she was witnessing."

Its ironic cause one piece was never meant to be a kids show so seeing it on 4 kids they were basically ruining it on top of that i can imagine some kid who was used to the 4 kids version and then seeing the normal adaptation

I do it’s literally what got me into one piece because of the 4kids dub and it was my first exposure to one piece.
