If this video was helpful and you want to keep thinking through Scripture beyond YouTube, I write a weekly reflection by email where I explore what the Bible says and how it applies to everyday life. You can find that here: https://rethinkbible.substack.com

My prodigal son age 20 is coming back home tomorrow

My dad asked me to watch the prodigal son on YouTube a couple years b4 he died smh I am just now understanding what he was saying to me in full now. Ty for this, u just changed a lot for me.

Dad I'm ready to come back home right now ❤❤❤.

Great explanation. The great thing about this story is I can see myself as both brothers at different times in my life.

Thank you for explanation and i identify myself with an older brother judging people who are doing wrong forgetting that I'm not perfect myself and I pray to God yo give me a heart of love and compassion

May God bless everyone  who listens to this lovely teaching, may be seen in the Father's house through our Lord and Savior  Jesus Christ. Amen.

I finally understood the story, after having turned away from God and feeling guilty about my behavior. Today I understand that he is waiting for me. thanks

I have two grown sons and the elder was always more cautious and followed the rules, while the younger was always more of a risk taker and reckless. What is interesting as a father is seeing versions of your own self in your sons and tempering your response. Some kids need to go out and find things out through hard lessons, and others trust in your advice and stay safe. It is a universality which makes the parable so valuable. All paths are different but all lead back to the love and forgiveness first given.

GREAT addition to my understanding of the Prodical with nearly 50 years of walking with Jesus.

I identify myself as a younger brother because i strayed away from GOD on the year 2021, and do things that against His commands😭😢💔 and also an older brother because back then sometimes i got jealous even though i know its wrong i can still feel it.😢

Thankyou for this video😭

I am so thankful for Gods Love and even though I may stray from him, he is always there to welcome me back with open arms

This is a clear and powerful illustration of the parable.  Thank you!

I'm returning to God after the sufferings I had while battling with depression for 3 years and doing wrong things - by relying only on myself and sinning. I felt so bad, the devil ruled my mind by telling me I was unworthy of living every single day. I felt emptiness and heaviness in my soul and millions of sad suicidal thoughts.
But I still had hope, that someday I would be healed. Because the world of God is perfect, but I couldn't see it that well with chaos in my mind and heart. Now, I'm finally healing by forgetting these traumatic times and becoming better and kinder to myself and others every day. Life is perfect and beautiful with the peace God gives.
That was the first chapter I read and I cried. I see myself in the younger brother, who thought that the Father would be angry at his son that didn't listen to him. I want to celebrate. I want to come back home and embrace my Father, my Jesus and finnaly be happy and found. And you helped me to see it. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much, this was so powerful. It brought tears to my eyes. I am the prodigal son, who has now been redeemed and restored. Shalom. 🔥 🙏🏿

2 years later i find this video and it was powerful.   Thank you so much. It touched my heart.❤️

I'm speaking on the Prodigal Son this Sunday, and you gave me another perspective.  Good word 🙌🏾

Excellent interpretation! I also draw a parellel between the two brothers that this life is neither fulfilling nor fair. The only truth and meaning are found in God and we have to denounce our pride to come to that realization

I asked the holy Spirit to send me a message this morning and THIS WAS IT. AMEN!!! THIS MESSAGE STARTED ME ON MY HEALING JOURNEY. PRAISE JESUS THIS WAS POWERFUL. MY TEARS ARE BEING COUNTED

Love the way you broke down the lesson. Blessings
