Sunday at Race The Waves 2026 brought better weather, softer sand and another full day of cyclekarting on Bridlington beach.

With only five cyclekarts running, it was a much more relaxed day—but simply reaching the track while towing our equipment across the soft sand became a challenge of its own. Once there, we had to keep changing the layout as the tide moved out and the beach slowly began to drain.

Despite a broken camera mount, a snapped wheel spoke and another drive-belt failure, we managed some brilliant group runs. This included several laps running side by side with Jim, some close driving with Paul—who is still doing this in his eighties, and plenty of footage from the trackside and onboard 360 cameras.

There’s no background music in this video—just the narration and the raw sounds of the cyclekarts on the beach.

A massive thank you to Twisted Roots Distillery for welding Dad’s broken track rod on Saturday evening and refusing to take any payment. Their help meant he could get back onto the beach and drive again on Sunday.
