So far this is the best song i ever listened

That "orchestrated pause of the band" also comes at a time when she's singing of being alone, listening to herself on the radio, and then she's singing alone. Pure artistry.

When you'll listen to her more, you will see she is The best story teller in pop music. She just conveys genuine feelings. Besides perfect musical delivery.

Lara's just one of the greatest performers of in the World 🙏

One listen to this and you understand why Dimash has had a crush
on Lara since age 11.

Lara is The Queen of Resonance and vowel coordination. She is The Ring. The perfect singer.

Any language she sings, she is the ultimate Queen, still today at 54yo, she owns the stage with her voice, beauty and performance,  in an other  league by herself   Lara Fabian is certainly one of the most complete artists of the beginning of this century. Recognised as such from Montreal to Moscow by way of Paris. It's sad that, the USA has not followed the career of this incredible artist, author, composer and performer

“Je suis Malade”, now a french classic,  was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973.
This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …).

When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and composed the music in a couple of hours.
The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes.

Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song  was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad.

But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s.
At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two  inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version.
She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet during his own Paris concert in January 1995. It was a triumph. So he sat in a front row seat and asked her to sing it again alone.

Lara also had  made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power. Serge and Lara  became good friends and performed several other duets later on.

The 1999 version ("From Lara with Love" Concert in Montreal)
https://youtu.be/eHSyk4SGtuY
is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries.

The most recent ones  I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella.

Lara is used to perform the song very differently in each of her tour and for instance the En Toute Intimité, 2003, Paris Olympia version is even more dramatic

The most Beautiful voice on earth ❤

Thank you for a beautiful reaction to Lara's incredible performance.

The Ultimate Queen in action 👸🏼

Love Lara ❤️
Love from Denmark ❤️

The best moved touching song which describes human being desperately struggling for heartbroken love relationship and you just feel endless pain and sorrow but you are completely powerless, helpless and faithless about any hope.

She is the best vocalist I ever heard and she delivers emotions like no other!!!
I am a fun of Celin Dion but now that I hear Lara I think she is better!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

🇨🇦   Why do reactors not wait until the end  ?   You missed about 60 seconds of Lara's own reaction  !  Now you need to redeem yourself,  try reacting to All of "Adagio",  for which she co-wrote the lyrics  !    🇨🇦

Thank you for the reaction !

at my big age of 34, this is still one of my fave performances ever

You should have listened to this video all the way to the end.  She is so invested emotionally in this song and performance that even when she stops singing it takes her awhile to come back to herself. You visually see it in her face as she works to pull out of the character she has just embodied. She left everything she had on the floor emotionally and vocally. This is what  she is known for.  Listen to her perform Broken Vow and Adagio, this time in English.

I ❤ silence in this song - power, passion, intimity ❤

Best female singer alive. Best vocals👍🏻
