Jordan, as with all your tours of historical attractions, we found this broadcast entertaining, informative and exceptionally interesting.  Possibly because Roosevelt played such an important role in global politics, combined with the fact that he passed away on this property, we found this tour quite emotive, the place seems to have such a peaceful (almost private) atmosphere.  The unfinished portrait was truly impressive.  Many thanks Jordan for all these amazing broadcasts.

My grandpa guarded him at the little white house for a period of time.

I love history. This was an exceptional video. President Roosevelt was a great president and accomplished many things as president. 🎉

There is so much more to the Roosevelt story. The painter was hired by Lucy Rutherford,  formerly Lucy Mercer. She had been Eleanor's social secretary more than forty years previously. She and FDR had a passionate affair. When she discovered it Eleanor offered him a divorce but his mother threatened to cut him off if he did. He had promised never to see Lucy again. While their marriage was never more than a partnership after that, Eleanor was not an easy woman to be married to. She never accepted his genuinely declining health and she pushed him hard. She thought he just wanted attention. He did not see Lucy for decades. She was married but after her husband died she went to visit FDR at the White House now and then when Eleanor was away. It was arranged by their daughter Anna. When Eleanor got to Warm Springs after his death, she learned of all of this. Their relationship was not physical. It was about relaxing with someone who had shared so much with him when he was young and healthy.

The farm my grandparents had was less than 20 miles from the Little White House.  I visited the little White House many times while at the farm.  That area is beautiful!

If it wasn't for FDR's and Winston Churchill's bravery and courage, we would all be speaking German! This was a good video and as a student of history, people don't realize what a great President FDR was. His cousin Teddy, was also a great leader, and the both Teddy and FDR were instrumental in enacting labor laws, Social Security, and other legislation that benefited the poor and middle-class and not just the rich. We didn't even have a middle class for the most part until after World War II.

Jordan THIS WAS A GREAT ONE. YOUR RESPECT AND ADMIRATION OF HIM SHOWS THROUGH.  THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!!!  Ever gonna do LBJ Ranch ?

Great job Jordan!

What a great man he was. This was cool to see!!

Thank you for the wonderful video!  I will be visiting FDR's Hyde Park Home and his Memorial in Washington this Summer.  FDR is one of our greatest U.S. presidents, and I hope one day we'll get another President like him.

Thanks Jordon. ❤

This has been updated since I visited with my mom back in early 2000s. We entered the house from the front and was with a park service tour guide. She showed us the scratch marks his dog fala made at the front door a lot of them! Such a beautiful place down a long road. We also toured the pool facility at warm springs was also manned by the park service and an older lady was there she was a very young child and was in the rehab center and became friends with the roosevelts and attended thanksgiving dinner with him.  It was interesting to listen to her stories. Thanks for sharing this update for me!
