Not allowing Sting to win cleanly at starcade, misusing Bret hart, the way goldbergs streak ended.

Boggles my mind why Bischoff didn't just sign Bret Hart and then hold off his WCW debut a couple more weeks for the end of Starrcade 97. Imagine the nWo running in to help Hogan, and then Bret comes out to clear the ring and save Sting. The pop would have been nuts. Sting would have gone over and Hogan could have immediately entered a program with Bret. Then the nWo splitting into two factions would have made more sense if Hogan lost clean. Nash could have questioned Hogans leadership, etc. How they dropped the ball with Starrcade 97 to me was the biggest blunder in pro wrestling history, in my opinion.

The WWF didn't start going live with RAW every week until 1999, around the same time they launched Smackdown . Remember, the same night as the Fingerpoke of Doom (Jan. 4, 1999), Foley won the title from The Rock on a taped episode of RAW that WCW spoiled, and everyone changed the channel to watch it.

Finish of starcade 97? Literally the biggest wrestling angle ever died that night.

I believe your heart is in the right place, Eric. It's noble of you to take some accountability with your audience for the failures WCW faced, even if much of the blame is to be given to those you worked for/with. It was a hell of a war with both WCW and WWF using what leverage they could. A lot of unfamiliar territory for all parties involved. It's just refreshing to see a man address these old mistakes. Good on you too, Conrad. Thanks for facilitating this.

That DDP Goldberg match was a great match

The Shockmaster's debut is now one the most iconic moments in pro wrestling.

The Flair/Hogan fued in 1999 was the biggest misstep in WCW, IMO. They did a double turn, and the whole thing withered and died.

Not having Mabel as the 3rd man has to be the biggest failure

@cvltwithoutaname 1 year ago

The biggest fail has been how smarks and WWE have rewritten the history of WCW.

David Arquette winning the WCW World title will forever be my number one because of me, as the biggest wrestling fan in my high school, was lambasted by people who didn't see it asking me if it really happened and mocked everything that was WCW at the time because who believed Arquette could beat anyone and, yet, here he was. Even when I explained how it came about, they still thought it was stupid and I noticed people talking to me about wrestling rarely, if ever, talked WCW after that moment.

I personally liked thunder. Thought it had a cool vibe.

The Vince ruso promo on hulk hogan was the best thing ruso ever did in wcw

@BizzyIzzy87 6 months ago

Number 1 should be that Sting didn’t have a tan.

@newjerseyballer 1 year ago

WCW had an elite roster and they had an opportunity with Thunder to show everyone.

Bret Hart brought in for hogan vs Sting

@Buadih 1 year ago

The use of Bret Hart by WCW deserves a spot. Gotta be the biggest bag fumble in prowrestling history.

I think the biggest fail was the guaranteed contracts. When Time-Warner dropped WCW, you had a lot of aging stars that were sitting on guaranteed contracts. It was impossible to re haul. If WCW didn't have the guaranteed contracts, TNA would be the new WCW back in the early-2000's.
