Norwegian black metal legends, Emperor, are about to embark on a rare North American tour with special guests, Blood Incantation. The trek is scheduled to kick off in Toronto, ON on March 27th, and will wrap up on April 12th in Los Angeles, CA. VIP packages are available here.
“Well, we have been very privileged to have the opportunity to come back," Ihsahn tells BraveWords in a new Streaming For Vengeance interview set to air tomorrow (March 4th). "And now finally two shows in Canada. It’s been too rare and too long ago, so we're really looking forward to it.”
BraveWords: Looking back to your youth, how important was it to actually play North America? Playing in the US, playing Canada, was that one of the ultimate dreams, or did it matter?
Ihsahn: “I think for us, we were still so young, back in 1999, and still quite inexperienced, if you will. We didn't really do the extent of touring that many of the other bands did, for different reasons. And, I think was kind of unreal, we didn't have a super good plan or any experience. So I think we were just pinching ourselves and trying to make the best of it and to take it in. I think we're still like that, taking it in, and to be this kind of extreme underground music, and we can return all these continents. We’ve been several times to Japan, Australia, North America, South America, it's kind of crazy.”
25 years and counting, BraveWords wears their metal heart loudly on their sleeve, as they celebrate the greatest genre of music with the most dedicated and passionate fans on the planet!
