Note: some of these bugs have already been fixed, so expect things to run more smoothly when trying it out.  Alot of mechanics for shell normalization have also been improved since I posted this.

I don't know whenever this proves that "spaced armor works" or "Sprocket doesn't work"

months ago i made "stalinium", a mesh that's hundreds of 1mm plates spammed at +/-5° angles, since sprocket makes any shot ricochet at >85°, regardless of thickness, inside of a 25° elevation to target, it makes it so you always have a plate that's at least at this angle of incidence, making it completely unpenetrable.
all while being about as light as a 35mm plate

I have a idea, after they fix the bugs and make the update. They should make it to where the armor can wear out after getting shot at a couple of times in the same spot.

Finally! Like a year ago I made spaced "composite" armour on many "MBTs" for historical snd style reasons. It's super cool that they will finally have an actual functional advantage! Hopefully this gets refined to be more accurate.

tank goes boom because computer thinks ammo are parts of the tank

would be even more fun when the shell designer is added

I can't stop laughing at the tank in the background hahahah

man every time I look at sprocket development, I get more impressed. I remember when it was super barebones.

Fun fact : APHE kind of ignores spaced, atleast in the non alpha.

Bro has discovered the ways of crossout

aww i wanted to see how spaced angled armor performs

8:36 I love how the second tank in the background implies this is not a mere test but a geneocide of jacobs

I made "composite armor" with this new system in the game and it's basically impenetrable while still maintaining a reasonable weight. I hope this game expanded beyond WW2 tech someday so we can have HEAT and APDS/APFSDS and maybe thermals and proper composite armor design.

The shell designer they talked about before would also be pretty cool. I could imagine to make it work for HEAT you could have to manually adjust the shape, size, and position of the copper liner and for APFSDS you'd have to adjust the shape, diameter, length, sabot shape/size, etc of the round.

Hamish feeling a little silly when deciding that fuel tanks are more lethal than ammo racks

Spaced armor now works properly, but it's still a very strong way to set up your armor. I havent tried but i'd say 3 layers are arround 30-35% stronger than a signgle armor block.

Working freeform spaced armor is a really nice change, since we previously had to use the restrictive singular armor plates. I made a cool leclerc this way, but now you get much more possibilities.

I really loved this video man!
