Yesterday LGen Devlin, Commander of the Canadian Army, presented me with a commendation for Desert Lions.  Very grateful for his support (He authorized the documentary's release, changing just one word: "reservists" to "soldiers".)  Also indebted to LCol Jay Janzen, who saw merit in the original proposal and pushed hard to keep the story intact.  Also: Hal Doran, Kirk Fachnie and others at Army Multimedia. Big thanks: Richard Millen (editor), Andy Gregg (mentor), and Brian Pshyk (tech support).

RIP Brian Pinksen never forgotten

To my fellow brother and sisters Canadians, we are proud of you.

I'm an old friend of Mike Vernon (RMC Class of 1985). He's done a great job with this documentary.

this is what I did in Kandahar  please respect me as a veteran and a human    in decorated    I went thru hell  im a Canadian vet

I hate my canadian government but love and respect our People and soldiers!

respect to my canadian brothers hope to be fighting with you guys soon

this is a really great documentary. It's really the only one of it's kind floating around.

Proud of all our Canadians who are and who have served with the Canadian Forces.  You are all Hero's.

What a phenomenal insight into what our men and women dealt with in that environment on a daily basis.  Kudos to all those who appeared in the video, awesome job!  Seargent Major Chambers, keep that brain bucket a little closer, we want you and all the troops home safe and sound every time :)

08:50 "This is a workers comp claim right here!" I cracked up! Thanks for putting this up!

I went to school and hung around Mike when we both lived in Base Greiseback(Sp?) Edmonton Alberta in the mid 70's

RIP Corpral Pinksen, I was a part of the 2Newf Reg. No more though. A-Coy all the way.

R.I.P. Brother

I would love to join, I"ll be trying this summer coming.

This video brings up so many emotions in me. I can't wait to have a go through basic training and hopefully med tech as well. I hate not being able to do anything right now whilst the majority of my friends are serving.

If u check the history of South Korea it was a battle called the Kapyon Valley that was the Turning point ., with Thousands upon thousands of Chinese and North Koreans attacking the Americans and British retreated leaving the Canadians on their own to fight .. The Canadians won that battle ...They in fact were given the Presidential unit citation from the American government

If you were referring to the ANA you can see them at 18:00 as they leave for patrol.

Funny I remember Mike Vernon as a young green 2 Lt in the PPCLI...man I'm getting old
