Tavera and Qualis were best 7 seaters vehicles for long drive.

BS 3 and BS 4 diesel engines were top performers. BS 6 killed diesels. India lost many good vehicles due to implementation of poor Govt policies,

I owned Tavera. One of the best vehicles in india. With a 10 seater 2.5 diesel engine. It gave 18 kmpl. Till 450000 kms even the clutch plate was nice. Sad it was stopped in india.

I had a opel astra which I bought in 2002 for 13 laks
Grt car but not for city traffic like in Pune
But enjoyed it on the highway

Tavera was one of the best vehicle to drive for me. I waited long for an upgrade to the 4ja1-t upgrade to common rail but it never came on time. I heard later on they upgraded to some non-isuzu engine but it was too late. I sold my old tavera and had moved on.
Later on i found out that the isuzu dmax S-cab in india came with the exact 4ja1 block but with commonrail and vgt turbo. If they had upgraded the tavera on time with this engine it would have stayed on the road longer. It was a good muv the only issue i had was the front torsion spring rod holder/adjuster bolt that would break.

Chevrolet cruze was my dream car. I still regret for not owning. I bought Verna 4s due to budget issues at 13,25000 in 2014. Back then cruze costs was around 20,50,000/-After 6months heard the news that chevrolet is winding up their business from India. I tried to get a new cruze then, it was disounted to 17lakh. But the car was unavailable in my city. All the dealers hav already sold the cars. 😢

Back in 2007 during monsoon season I travelled from Banswara to Udaipur in Tavera and returned. Very comfortable car. Due to few rog people great companies get ruined.
