now i want to see rosie teach louis ballet

I love these "different athletic person tries climbing" videos! They show off some aspect of climbing that's worth to think about in a novel and cool way.

Oh my gosh, the footwork is amazing. Always fun to see how different sports and arts overlap!

This was brilliant to watch. Such a breath of fresh air compared to muscular dudes powering their way up the wall in their first session

More crossovers from technical sports, please!

there is something so majestic about watching a ballerina move outside of dance. masters of their own bodies. different application.

I have a ballet dancing friend who started climbing 6 months ago and has already reached the grades I climb (I've been climbing for 5 years ._.), so, to answer the question: yes.

this women's footwork is incredible

As a fellow ballet dancer who's interested in climbing this was so cool to see!

I know a former ballet dancer at the gym (she's about 40 now). The leg movement is amazing. What you didn't get into in the video is what they can do in very steep / roof problems. Like placing and using hooks right next to their face.

I do both ballet and climbing, and the comments I get a lot are:
- That looked so elegant. 🧚
- But it didn't seem like it was difficult for you? (because in ballet you need to hide how hard things feel)
- What do you mean you didn't realize you were doing splits reaching that foothold? 😱

What a GREAT TEACHER he is!  As a former ballet dancer who watches a lot of climbing, this is the first video that actually made me think I have the confidence to want to try it.  I related to her so hard.  I have long legs + shorter arms (weaker upper body) so I always thought climbing would be off the table.  His teaching style just maybe changed my mind.  He is encouraging, very clear, precise, quickly analytical, and problem solves her specific issues.  Can we strong leg ballet dancers actually do this? ha. Are all climbing teachers like this?  Amazing!!

100% we now Must see Louis do ballet 🩰

The mythical ballet video - at last :)

I love how many athletes of other sports are discovering bouldering as a complimentary activity. Rosie's precision is so impressive.

Wow, that was impressive, especially how she managed to stay on the climb while cycling  through options to top the v5.

One thing I find interesting about Louis compared to many other skilled climbers is that in addition to also being a very skilled climber, his being a coach means he articulates things so well, both to other climbers and the audience. It's always cool to see his analysis of everything.
Would love to see Rosie back again, especially on some more dynamic boulders. And of course I second her showing Louis some ballet basics! 😅

Now do the reverse!

Louis' coaching and Rosie's gumption @ 22:45 was excellent!  Well done.

I danced ballet for 6 years and also trained climbing I was always fascinates to se the benefits of ballet when i climbed and compared myself with others. The psychologist part and the footwork is really on another level.

Her ability to receive direction under physical and mental stress (aka stay on the wall and hear and understand Louis Direction) is incredible
