Bryson is BACK along with Brayton. The best team this side of the hemisphere! What a wonderful place to get stuck for a bit.

Happy belated birthday, Nikki! Camp Daddy doing you right with that sweet guitar, digging skills, and (as always) making food that makes us all drool like Hank and Max.

Great episode!!!! I love how the shop seemed almost excited to have you visit them again. That hoodie was really cool. Their reception of both of you really says something about who you are. Thanks for taking us along!!!

Thanks for letting me live through your lives. My wife is somewhat disabled after a bad bought with the "C" word. This is something that I would absolutely love but we are on hiatus right now. You all are amazing. Have fun and be safe. And Happy Birthday Nikki!

@usmcmsgt7051 7 months ago

Depending how long it took you to upload this video it could be a happy belated birthday or a happy birthday…. Either way safe travel guys.

Nikki, you have the most positive attitude, which in turn makes for more positive experiences, even when they are not.

Small outdoor tip, especially for winter and vanlife: Trying to light big beams or thick logs directly with a gas torch usually does not work well because there is not enough heat built up yet. It works much better to build the fire in stages: start with dry tinder, then very thin kindling, then pencil-thick sticks, then thumb-thick pieces, and only after that add larger logs. The goal is not to burn the big wood directly at first, but to create a stable bed of heat and embers. If the wood is wet on the outside, splitting it often helps because the inside is usually much drier — which is also why a small hatchet or axe can be really useful if you make outdoor fires regularly. Airflow is just as important as fuel: do not stack everything too tightly, or the fire will suffocate. A gas torch can help, but it cannot replace building the fire from small to large. Learn how to make kindling from bigger logs.
