The legacy of the Roman Empire lives on, through Vtubers.

Even though French and Italian share a lot of vocabulary, French pronunciation is very different. Italian, Portuguese and Spanish speakers can understand each other to some degree. French and Romanian are the outliers regarding Romance languages. The reason Raora can understand CC better is cause the cat is a native speaker, whereas french is the third language of the automaton.

I'm waiting for my French Hololive and see her talking with Cecilia

As a french, i can tell you that when she knows the words, Cici's french is quite fluent, the accent too is perfectly nailed (although as a native french i could guess it's not her first language)

I'm Brazilian and I could understand a lot of things that raora said just by ear without knowing a single thing about Italian, that's crazy

As Language simp once said "Italian is Heterosexual version of French with less moaning"

the ''mais pourquoi'' from cecilia was SO CUTE, I love when she speaks French~

1:58 She pronounces the C in "piace" in a very specific regional accent. It's like a slurred "sh" instead of a clear "c".

Damn, Raora is purring really loudly

There are three Italian words for "blue". "Blu" is dark blue, "azzurro" is middle blue, "celeste" is light blue.

"ti piace il gioco?"
Cecilia: No, I don't want chocolate
Also Cecilia: I understood "game"

Breaking news: european languages exist

Latin languages have the peculiarity that they're grammatically and phonetically close enough that a native speaker of a different language can still understand about 60% of what someone is saying, granted they speak slow and clear enough. It's even easier when written.

All Romance languages have so much in common that isn't that weird to understand most of what is being said if you speak at least one of them. Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and others share the same branch. If you can speak one of these, the rest will be easier to learn.
