i love how happy he gets when he realizes that people love the show, "it's good isn't it?" a man proud of his work.

Should've cut figurines out of beer cans while answering questions!

McConaughey's acting has gone through the stratosphere this past year. Wolf of Wall Street - excellent role, stole the scene. Dallas Buyers Club - phenomenal performance, both physically and mentally. True Detective - slow burning brilliance. Thumbs up to you Mr McConaughey. I salute you!

"is pretty good isnt it?!" haha you know it, we know it.

Eight of the greatest hours of television film you will ever, ever see.

Funny. 1995 Cohle is my favorite. I don't find him boring at all... The script and depth of the character at that time is enough.

McConaughey is reaching really high levels... Like Daniel Day Lewis Sean Penn levels.. The character he played in this show was something special man.. Holy shit was he good in this..

What's pretty interesting is that his performance is the most hypnotic on this show when he's doing the least as possible. Just sits, walks, broods, reminisces. All slowly, barely even moving. A truly magnetic and misteryous performance, where "less is more" applies quite accurately. He just simmers.

I just watched True Detective..........i mean....words can't describe how much I love this show

0:20 love the way his face lights up when talking about TD. You can tell the passion he had for the show

His character is interesting AF

95 Cohle was intense in a calm way. You throw a plastic can of gasoline on a red hot bed of coal just waiting for it to catch fire. A guy tormented by his own and the surrounding existence. You just sat there and waited for him to ignite. Best role ever in TV history.

1995 Cohle was my favorite of the series, he still had a mystery to himself

Matthew McConaughey will live throughout the ages. He is an will be one of the best actors ever born for the next century. Mark my words.

'95 Cohle is my favorite character in TV history I think.

"I don't sleep.  I just dream."

He is so much smarter than most people give him credit for, pre-McConnaissance and now.

That guy is a masterpierce. best actor ever in my humble opinion.

Rust could've only by played by that man, he made the serie even better, I think.

Matthew McConaughey is only 45 years old but it feels like he's been acting for over 50 years! What a brilliant actor, very underrated despite he won an Oscar last year.

I loved the " '95 Cohle"  ..  I loved all of it. I NEVER watch shows like this with a murder/detective/action bent and no (or minimal) comic relief from the violence and horror. My husband had the second episode on and I watched a minute or two and I was hooked. I went back to the first episode and watched the rest week to week with growing excitement and anticipation and unlike some people, I was totally rewarded with what, for me, was an amazing ending. I don't know if it was the music, the characters, the acting, the gorgeous, yet rotting bayou or a certain je ne sais quoi but I fell in love. I'm thinking that there is NO WAY the next season can be as good but maybe I'm wrong. Apparently, Nic Pizzolatto is a genius.

Matthew McConaughey gave without a doubt his all time best performance in True Detective!
