Goldeneye gets the most satisfying villain death award. Nothing beats “For England, James?” “No, for me.”

What I love about the meeting with Goldfinger and Bond is how Bond initially suspects the plot to be the actual original one from the novel, where Goldfinger literally plans to just steal all the gold from Fort Knox, and berates him on how unrealistic it really is. When he then deduces the plan is actually much more logical now, using a nuclear device to destroy the gold and amplify the value of his own private stocks, it's an amazing moment.

"You will regret refusing my cucumber sandwich, Mr Bond. My mother made them especially."

"You expect me to talk?"

"No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to DIE!"

10:23 if Whittaker had gotten into warhammer miniatures he still would have gone into crime to be able to afford it.

SPECTRE Writer- "Let's re-invent Bond's archenemy by making him Bond's long-lost secret brother!"
Dr Evil from Austen Powers- "...RRRrrright.. Think you might've been beaten to the punch there, champ."

The passive aggressive initial meeting between Bond and the villain was always a highlight back in the day.

As a German I had the benefit of not having Goldfinger dubbed by Collins, it’s actually Froebe himself. Knowing now both versions Collins does a fantastic job matching Froebe.

This is gonna be a good un. All we need now is a Charles Gray "Jump to the left" and all is well  tonight.

I never forget, as high schoolers, showing my best friend A View to a Kill. And when Zorin says, "does anyone else wanna drop out?" My friend laughed, uncontrollably, and asked me to rewind a play the line again. Core memory.

5:33 I still can't believe someone attached to the Bond franchise watched Austin Powers (Goldmember) and said, "yes, that's the direction we want to go!"

I always feel bad for the poor cat when you notice how badly its freaking out...

“Our attempts failed”
“Your attempts failed”

26:36 makes me laugh for some reason. It’s not something you wanna hear from the ceiling of such an ominous and creepy room. Makes me wish we’d get more liminal spaces and mystique in Bond villains again.

One of my favorite Drax lines in Moonraker:

Hugo Drax: James Bond. You appear with the tedious inevitability of an unloved season.
James Bond: I didn't think there WERE any seasons in space.
Hugo Drax: So far as you're concerned, there's only winter.

I met Donald Pleasance in the 80s. He came into my bar in Manchester with his Salfordian wife and her family. He was very... pleasant, if a bit out of it.

I was so, so, SOOOO disappointed at Waltzfeld, whose main motivation was... daddy issues??.  I was praying the end of the film would have Mr. White - having faked his own death as Bond had left the cabin when we heard the gunshot - walk in, take a seat at the head of the table, and introduce himself as the REAL Blofeld.  SUCH a missed opportunity.

probably my favorite line in the ENTIRE franchise is "and the money, señor?" "...launder it"

Honorary Top 10 Bond villain:
Hank Scorpio, voiced by Albert Brooks
The Simpsons season 8, episode 2
"You Only Move Twice"

Franz Sanchez is my favourite. Let’s face it, out of this gallery of rogues, who would be the one who actually rewards the henchmen?

Telly is my favorite Blofeld but it does occur to me that it fits with my reading of the character as a gangster;
He's an intelligent thug with delusions of grandeur.
SPECTRE is an ambitious organization but at the end of the day it's still just doing Mob Activities.
