I have personally been a part of the Classic through the years, escorting paddlers like Matt Walls and Scott Rusher, two time finisher 2007 and 2008, being 63 my first crossing '07, in real 'shit' conditions (8hrs15min) and '08 in beautiful conditions (6hrs32min), "Wounded Warriors", Camp Pendleton twice with a relay team of Marines and watermen volunteers.
I have met and traveled to Hawaii twice, Australia and France, as well as San Francisco and south to San Diego.with some amazing athletes, Joe, you among them, Jamie Mitchell, Tim Ritter (Hennessey Races) too many more to list. The camaraderie is unreal. I have done the Classic side by side finish in '08 with my son-in-law Dave Anderso, R-10 race twice with grandsons Braedon and Max Anderson.
Being a surfer, sailor, paddler, I have some of my best life experiences on the ocean.
Congratulations to Jack for his performance last Sunday and then following it with Gemma's first in women's.
