In Fred Armisen’s case, not only did he find his true heritage, he found out that for the past 50 years, he had been identifying with the japanese who actually massacred his true ethnic people and forced his grandfather to change his identity and hide amongst the enemies.

I love this show, it's not as well known as "Who Do You Think You Are?", but I still enjoy it.

My paternal "discovery" through DNA was a very brief sense of relief followed by even more sadness than I had already endured. I got answers that's true; and now I wish I hadn't.

I was rather unsettled to discover multiple suicides in my tree, all closely related to each other, also all men 😢 My great great grandad we knew about already, but then we found instances for one of his brothers, a nephew and one for his own son, but the worst was the nephew from the first brother who first took the life of a female friend (unrequited love) before turning the weapon on himself. I'm deeply horrified by this one. In the first and last ones there were known contributing factors (NOT excuses!) But I have not idea what led to the others, I'm assuming mental health issues. These all happened between 1902 and 1930 so I know mental health was barely understood or treated well

Thanks For The Story MsMojo Queen(Phoebe)

Well done, thank you!👍💕✨

DNA rules.  I found out that my maternal grandfather had a liaison with a Blackfoot woman in Northwest Montana. She had twin boys who were adopted by silent film star Louise Dunbar in Washington State. I got 2 more uncles.

Hahaha… Families and their secrets. 😂😂 I am originally from Germany. As far as I have known, my father had 10 siblings. My dad was an alcoholic. That kind, when he gets drunk, he would start arguments with everyone. Birthday parties. Anniversaries. Christmas. Ended always in the same manner. Everyone left. Until nobody came to visit. Nobody. That’s why I had absolutely no knowledge of my family. On top. All my grandparents died before I was born. Nobody I could ask. And I always asked anyone who was much older than I was: “Are you sure that’s my family?” No idea. I just had that feeling always. I remember as a 9 year old, I even asked my mom: “Are you sure that’s this is my dad?” Ohhh boy. I couldn’t sit down for a couple of days without a lot of pain. Well. I honestly had know idea that this was an insult to my mother. Right. Kids! Anyway. Fast forward. No contacts to relatives at all. My 3 older siblings didn’t cared about me, living with an alcoholic alone after my mother died. Then my father died. One of my aunts died a couple years later. I got a call to come for a family reunion to see 2 cousins and their mother. “A sister” of my dad ….. To get the certificate of death, someone of the family members who is a close relative must sign the release of that certificate. My aunt who liked to sign, shows her passport. She was 78 years old at the time and got the shock of her lifetime. The clerk looked the familie up in an old big book. “Madame. Sorry. You can’t sign the document…” “What you are talking about? She was my sister!….” It came out, that only our father was related to her through the same father! The others had different fathers!!! All nine of them! 😮 Fast forward. You know. You always think that you are 100% German, Japanese, and so on. I thought so too. 100% German. Until you get an email from Rome. Looks like my 3 siblings didn’t answer that email so I got one: “Is your father xxxxxxxx and your mother xxxxxx.? Your grandparents xxxxxx and xxxxxx? “Sure. So far I know that from the last family meeting…” “Your ancestors are from the Milan area. 1154……” (And so on) Now I really know why I like pasta and pizza so much! I’m part Italian. I always search our family name and it showed that it was from the Italian part of Tirol area because it wasn’t a common name in my city. But you know. It wasn’t an Italian sounding name. More Austrian. Messner . Okay. I always had known something was wrong. 😂

trunker treat and fall leaf art project of rubbing the crayon on the paper over the leaf

This had made me want to do a y dna test to see if my surname is correct.

I wonder if Sammy Belcher is Bob Belcher's dad.

I'm sorry but Warmwasser is a German name, not Polish.

It's too bad that they do this for celebrities, and not for the rest of us. It's the only reason why I refuse to watch it.

I get how Tea Leoni felt a bit. My great-grandfather had long been assumed to be the child of his mother's husband. But we also noticed that a blood father not adopting his son was extremely strange. His parents also didn't like my g-grandfather's offspring. DNA matching led to my finding out he was sired by someone we'd never heard of. His name was not on his son's birth records. Looking into his life history, his erasure from his son's records made sense. He was married when my g-grandfather was conceived.
