Secret World Legends - A Greedy, Awful Reboot

Ugly Fish

Last video detailed why the original secret world was the best MMO ever made - this time we're deep diving into what made the relaunch into such a steaming pile. Had a bit of a cold when recording the audio for this, so sorry if it seems a bit nasally.

Even with the length of the video I wound up not covering a lot of topics I wanted to dive into, suffice it to say if you've got a mind for it you can really sit down and pick apart this relaunch. RIP Secret world, we all miss you.

Hey folks - this is a reupload from my other channel Ceronesthes, so if you feel like you've seen this video before under a different name, you have! Sorry for any confusion, thanks for bearing with me as I move stuff around.

I was thinking of going back again, but this reminded me why I quit. I miss classic tsw. That shit had my bro and I literally going out to buy a Bible in order to solve a puzzle for a quest

This is all so depressing, I had so many hours in the original TSW. The first MMO I actually cared about end game in, but the lack of content added at that level meant that literally every friend I made in that game just stopped playing as time went on.
I don't know why anyone would trust Funcom to make anything these days, they abandon or break basically everything they touch. Remember their Conan MMO? Yeh neither do they

This game made join, and later co-lead a guild (or a cabal) that made it to the top of my region. It's the only time I was able to do that. We did raids, the nightmarish trophys, we did it all. Hell, many of those in that guild still play together today. That game changed my life. It's a very special game for me and watch it like this hurts my soul.
Look how they massacred my boy.

Coming from the classic TSW and even having a lifetime's subscription (don't recall the name anymore) the second I got my first achievement in SWL and no EXP for it (like in the original) I knew this will be a watered down version of the game that made me fall in love so hard.

RIP Secret World, it was wonderful while it lasted and will continue to ignore SWL for the rest of my gamer's life

I am one of those who quit in Egypt a long, long time ago.
Was thinking of coming back due to good memories.
Thankfully that itch was removed with this video. What a shame.

This game deserves a relaunch with serious optimization. This had the best storytelling and ambiance of any MMO, had really fantastic options for mixing and matching weapons for unique builds, and I find myself logging back in annually just to redo quests and hunt lore. It's a serious nostalgia hit for me and I'm glad it's stayed available so long after the relaunch and player numbers dropped off.

One thing I loved about the original that I wasn't really allowed to do was just main one weapon entirely. Loved seeing peoples reactions to me just going through the entire main campaign with just sword.

I wanted to play this back before the re-release but never did get to it. Thanks for letting us know that is version isn't worth the time or grind. Great video!

Great vid. I specifically thought about the game and wondered if any new videos came out for it. Boom, I saw this. And I learned a bunch of stuff I didn't know before.

I just hope someone else gets the IP and makes a new game set in the Secret World universe.
I don't care if it's an MMO, single player RPG, RTS, the setting is so, SO GOOD, it's criminal that it is being forgotten forever.

Anyone came here from Ross Dungeon episode about secret world? Ross called it that the online only game will be killed 😢

Now our only hope is someone saved code and rebuilding old Secret World as new private server

Fuck yeah I thought I would never see a video about this game

Yes I did the same thing, spent over a hundred two hundred, less than thirty days before relaunch, with no announcement until the day before they launched. When I had the same complaints I was told by funcom sycophants that I should have kept an eye on the Wall Street Journal and to stop complaining. 😮

OMG, this video is so perfect.
Me and Kaguya were the first players to finish the skill wheel on the original TSW.
This video show everything i think about SWL.

Sad.
Wish I could play the original TSW again...
