What beautiful living art. So useful and natural. Thank you. I’m so glad it’s coming back.

What a fantastic skill, we need more craftsmen like this 👏

That hedge was a thing of beauty, it looked fantastic, thank you.

We have a whole crew of white-haired retirees who lay hedges around Windsor Great Park. I am not one but I do have my own vintage bill hook. I hope to join them in due course 💖

Fabulous video. He looks a happy man at his work and what a benefit to surrounding wildlife.

I absolutely love this. Thank you for sharing your craft.

I'm doing this on my land in the US. Thanks for sharing, beautiful and important craftsmanship.

i love the combination of 'rule of thumb' and precision at play, gotta love knowledge passed down properly.

That is how you lay a hedge! Well done sir!

what a masterpiece! I love it, never seen that in Poland

This is absolutely beautiful!! ❤❤

Wonderful too see this craft still alive and viable.

Without knowing it, I used these techniques to build a living fence around a pool. I used paw-paw and willow stakes and honeysuckle. The honeysuckle thrived and created a dense wall that no small critters or children could get through. And it looked and smelled beautiful during the summer. When we sold the house years later it was still strong and sturdy. The willow rooted and made enduring stakes after the paw paw weakened.

Traditional craftsmanship at its best. I hope you are still at it and I hope more that some youngster out there is keen to learn the skill.
That Billhook looks like a well used tool from many hands.

Love watching Paul's work, inspiring guy.

I never knew, thank you for sharing such a wonderful and beautiful skill

Good on ya mate! Enjoying your book also, via Spotify. Cheers from New Zealand ps soon to walk North & South Downs Ways, and Devon coast to coast. I'll keep an eye out for ya, buy you a cider 😅

I absolutely LOVE to see these hedges take shape. There's a lot of these around where I live & over the years I've watched them being laid & then mature into magnificent hedges & they truly are a living work of art. It was also a real privilege to see & speak with the chap who laid them too, a real craftsman with a deep knowledge of his vocation & the countryside around him. He's also a bit of a go-to man when I fancy a nice bit of venison & I don't ask any questions how or where it was acquired.

Anyway, Paul Lamb here is a seriously interesting chap & I'm also really looking forward to reading his book.

I really love seeing this craft and look forward to your new book - especially the audio version!

Thank you master Lamb !
