I don't give a flying toss about the "alternate universe," but I think the miniatures would look cool as a pirate/Periphery-themed force

Looks like a hardcore 80's Saturday morning cartoon. Pretty sure there was a cartoon with people riding dinosaurs with guns.

fun note, the guy that brought us dark age is the guy bringing us this.... take that for what you will

23:10 the lizard has Death Commando patch on his arm, Death Commandos being Capellan elite spec-ops unit

The aesthetic reminds me more of Blasphemous or Trench Crusade more than 40k immediately, but 40k is the most likely source of inspiration. Anyway, I think these minis are fun!

I think Catalyst would have had a much better reception if they just released these designs as customizable bits boxes without trying to append the gimmick of "Gothic" to it.

CGL struggles to ship product and fulfill kick-starter sales.  But apparently they have all the time in the world to make the Kirkland brand of 40K.

Up next: BattleTrench 50K Crusade!

@25:30 Yes Phil, customization is nice. That is why 3d printing is great.

I can see that Marauder with the tapestries hanging off of it fitting in well with Davion's Royal Brigades, but that's about it.

Everyone gangster til the church starts walking

Some of these models look pretty cool, but the Atlas with a pointy hat was just hilarious. It's Dark Magician from Yugioh.

It was leaked at Kerensky Kon. Was supposed to be officially announced at Adepticon which just started last night.

I'm in the UK and Warhammer is king here... So when I first saw this I wasn't happy. The last thing I wanted was Battletech becoming infected with Warhammer. Tbh, I actually thought it was a joke at first, but then it kept appearing! I think your vid has helped me step back though and kinda appreciate what CGL are trying to do and ultimately it won't influence Classic BT... But I just hope they don't end up prioritise this over the 'primary' universe. I probably won't be buying any of this stuff, but will keep an eye on it.

Edit: the have been putting modular mechs in the recent packs about 1 per pack. The last ones where a Thunderbolt with interchangeable heads and a Legionnaire with interchangeable guns. Nothing this fancy though, usually just swappable guns.

These are going to be my new pirate / gladiator mechs. The alternate Atlas mechs look great. Depending on how they work, the abominations might be interesting but I can take it or leave it. Just putting it out there, I want a reskin Banshee, the bad old school one. We got a Charger now I want his big brother.

Initial thought: "Trukk not Munkey!"

Upon further reflection: Okay, sure, put it out there and see what the market decides. If it works out, great. If not, well at least you can easily ignore it.

Two of my favorite franchises, Gundam and Transformers both have a billion different continuities, so I don't mind Battletech trying out the "Alternate Universe Kool-Aid", but I may be in the minority with that.

At least the minis look like they could fit in the main timeline, maybe on Solaris or something.

Selaj was an early Free Worlds nible house I think. The Steiner one is a call back to the original Lyran Alliance. Unity is the Capellans alternate. Avalon - Davion but adding Haseks and Allards, Draconic well they didnt really change.

OK ...is there aliens???

Jump-jetting the shark!

There are a bunch of interesting ideas here. I'm not a fan of the overly baroque stylings, but I like the notion of Megafauna and Genetic Engineering run amok. It would be like if you added Dino Riders into the mix.

I'd be interested to see what the Clans would look like in this setting. The notion of having their namesake Clan totem as a basis for Gene augmentation sounds interesting. Especially in a universe where Elementals and Protomechs exist.

Anyone else think that this is where the black marauder came from?
