I was 60 in January and remember seeing this film as a young girl , under the age of 11, and remember it very clearly because I was terribly upset over Johnny, but also because it was one of my late mother’s favourite films and I miss her today. This is for you mum and thank you for this amazing film.❤

Fantastic film, reminded me how London used to be.I have always lived in Yorkshire, but used to go down there with my Mother to visit Grandma in the school holidays ,the east end of London was considered rough , however i used to hang out with the local kids ,similar age to myself ,and got on with them great. They were honest genuine kids.

Joan Collins was only 19 or 20 in this movie, she’s still around at 91.

Wow! What an amazing movie. I loved it. It seems so shocking for it's time. The ending was so sad though. Monica was so sweet to take little Johnny with her.

I revisit this movie once a year. Great cast. Yvonne Mitchell scrubs up well after seeing her in 'The Woman in the Dressing Gown' with Sylvia Sims and Anthony Quayle. Another great movie, that one.
