Clint has spent countless hours researching fishing boats online, so we headed to the Sydney International Boat Show 2026 to finally see some of our favourite boats in person and start narrowing down what could become our next fishing boat.
The Sydney Boat Show definitely didn’t disappoint! Seeing these boats in person gave us a completely different perspective. Boats we thought we'd love surprised us, others weren't quite what we expected, and a few quickly moved right to the top of our list.
Throughout the video we walk through and take a closer look at a huge range of fishing boats from Bar Crusher, Formosa, Haines Hunter, Cruise Craft, McLay, KingFisher, Stabicraft, Extreme Boats, Surtees, Northbank, Mako Craft, Ocean Pro, Sea Devil, Stacer, Allheart, Yellowfin, Quintrex and Whittley.
We also got to check out the new Oceanworx Access 6.1CC centre console, along with a huge range of offshore fishing boat designs, layouts and setups. Being able to actually climb aboard these boats and see them in person really changed the way we looked at some of the boats Clint had spent so much time researching online.
It wasn't just boats either! We stopped by Garmin to check out some of their latest marine electronics, fish finders and chart plotter screens and see what today's technology can offer for a serious fishing boat setup.
We also got to check out the incredible Hot Tackle display, which was absolutely packed with fishing gear and tackle. For anyone who loves fishing gear as much as we do, this was one seriously impressive part of the show!
Then there were the BIG toys! We stepped aboard some seriously impressive — and seriously expensive — boats from Riviera, Rayglass and Jeanneau, as well as the very impressive Sea Fox. These boats showed us just how far you can take an offshore boating setup when the budget starts getting serious!
One of the biggest things we wanted to work out at the Sydney Boat Show was what style of boat actually suits us best. Hardtop, center cab, walk-around or center console?
We walked into the show thinking we had a pretty good idea of what we wanted...
We walked out almost MORE confused! 😂
But one thing became much clearer: we think a centre console or open-style fishing boat could be the right direction for us.
Now we need your help!
Watch the video, check out the different boats with us and let us know in the comments:
Which boat would YOU choose?
And more importantly — what do you think should be the next Anchorhead Fishing boat?
We genuinely want to hear from experienced boat owners and fishermen. If you own one of the brands or boats featured in this video, let us know what you love about it, what you don't, and what you would choose if you were buying again.
Thanks for coming along with us!
Clint & Jenna

We definitely walked away leaning towards a centre console… but now we want to hear from you guys!
🎣 If it was YOUR money, which boat from the video would you choose and why?
And if you own one of these boats, we’d love to hear the good AND the bad from your experience.
Your feedback might genuinely help us decide what becomes the next Anchorhead Fishing boat! 👊🎣
