Reminds of the time I replaced the clutch and thrust bearing on my 1971 MGB Roadster around 1978.

I picked up the parts on Friday night on the way home from work. I was very lucky.and the spares shop lent me the winch for free cos I bought the parts from them,  Half way through lifting the engine out, I realised the chain was lifting the car not the engine! When lowering the car, and taking the chain off the engine mount, the engine decided to slip off the jack, breaking my left hand index finger.

Had to carry on cos I needed to drive to work on Monday morning and take the winch back otherwise there would have been a charge. So I know what this looks like doing it at speed however there was a difference and not just the broken finger and the lack of a shallow pit, there was only self-taught me not four knowledeable mechanics doing the job. I cannot tell you the relief when the engine started first time and then the clutch worked.
