The JR Hokkaido Soya Main Line boasts numerous remote stations, but one of the most famous is Nukanan Station in Horonobe Town.
The station features a wooden platform reminiscent of its temporary opening as a stop, topped with a commercially available storage shed, which serves as both the station building and waiting room.
Its striking appearance makes it one of the most popular remote stations in Hokkaido, but there is nothing around it, and it has no users; Horonobe Town bears the maintenance costs.
Only three round-trip local trains stop there per day, making it difficult to visit by train, but I went to see it because it could be abolished at any time.
