This video compares the roles that the Adepta Sororitas Battle Sister squad and Dominion squad have in Warhammer 40K 11th edition games. Which one is better? While I could do a surface tier list, this video goes far more in depth into tactics and how to use, build and equip these units.

The answer is 60 battle sisters and 30 dominions.

You think I don't talk back at you during these videos? I think you vastly underestimate me my good man!!

Sanctifiers also have a lot of hand flamers if you need spare ones.
Edit: As an Imperial Agents player, I choose the Sisters of Battle Squad.

@Dovahcron 2 months ago

6:51 since you don't replace the bolt pistol you can just give the superior a bolt pistol then call the pistol in the holster a hand flamer if WYSIWYG is required

Limited experience as a relatively new Sisters player, but in 11th I've been using a squad of each. The Sisters are deployed in the Immolator, with the remnants starting on my home objective to sticky. The Dominions usually start as near as possible to the expansion objective. In many a layout, they will start within Scout move range, so I can start using their Simulacrum to generate Miracle dice, and start scoring for objectives early. I've thus far been loading them out with Flamers, led by Aestrad as a deterrent for enemy units getting too close without sufficient support.

Has been working nicely for me so far. Aestrad could probably be better deployed, but having Dev Wound torrent overwatch has made my opponents think twice about getting too aggressive with my expansion

You can attach a priest to dominions and the priest gets scouts because of his holy mission leader rule!

I was a strict BSS advocate but the ability to jump back into your transport would have been a game changer in my last match against Admech. I may have to switch it up.

The vampire has shown me the way , I ran army of faith sanctified orators against blood angels….. I won by 40 points… apparently aestred thurga had to teach the angels the way of devastating wounds attached to a dominion squad ….. it was freaking awsome finally teaching the way of the holy trinity……

I'd love to see more videos like this, breaking down the specific roles and strategies that are best for each of the Sisters' units. As someone who's been a fan of Sisters lore for a long time but is still pretty new to the "actually playing the wargame" side of things, this video was actually really helpful to me in just turning the vague idea of "Dominions are a fast-attack/special weapons squad that's not as mobile as Seraphim or as specialized as Retributors, I guess?" into "oh, Dominions are for pushing forward faster than Dominions usually can and hitting harder than Battle Sisters can. They won't be useful in every army, but they have a role." Now I know, for example, that maybe Dominions could have fared better against my friend's Kroot Farstalkers than my Battle Sisters did, because they actually have ways to respond to enemies who start the turn halfway across the board and end it having thrown 27 dice at you in melee and annihilated your entire squad with basically no recourse (this isn't just a T3 Sisters issue, I've seen her do this to space marines too. Annihilated a whole Deathwatch squad without losing a single model. It didn't actually help her win either game, but it was terrifying to behold). Being able to move back 6" at the end of her Movement Phase would have been very helpful.

im still coping that one day we can take 20 models per bss
and also ministorum meltas

@DariusStyler 2 months ago

I personally take x2 battle sisters and x1 dominion. I like the versatility of the battle sisters a lot, they really do shine in my games, however the dominions I take do have the x4 melta guns. They like to hunt vehicles and heavy infantry. So long story short, both. Both is good.

@stuartbaxter-potter8363 2 months ago

I bought probably eight or nine boxes of Battle Sisters and at least six Retributors, then just stored all the weapons with their siblings: Flamers with flamers, heavy bolters with heavy bolters, etc. Now my squads are assembled ad-hoc for each game based on what my list needs and I'm not shackled to a particular squad loadout like I was with my Firstborn Marines.

Quantity aside, I recommend this approach. Don't be too fussed about which box each model came from (mark it with a unique color on the underside of the model's base if you like) and just put your squads together for each game.

Dominions + Aestred for the most annoying OW unit that we have access too, especially if near a landmark which we can use to play around with cover, etc.
Not only are flamers better in this edition by the fact that they ignore cover AND they effectively have +1AP wrt to 10th, but now 10 dominions with flamers is 20 points cheaper than they were in 10th.

@Balevolt 2 months ago (edited)

6:01 Hey, all my sister superiors have bolters. Except the one that used to be a celestian superior. The Dominion Superior has a Combi-Melta.

@Snockooz 2 months ago

Adding basically any character with hag can make them pretty good with storm bolters. Making those bolters strength 5 is not bad at all. Add in lethals and +1 ap from castigator and they will chew through marines.

@curtibell5147 2 months ago

Ranking the Openers(support characters) for the K-Pop Power Group (Triumph of St. Kathrine)? Had some fun with the hospitalar resing sisters around Kathrine. Running that combo in AoF made it to where I never had to use the double MDs or +6 FNP.

@shadeling6717 2 months ago

Id like to see an all flamer sisters unit like the marines infernus squad. Also i feel melta needs a buff game wide not just sisters. Maybe anti vehicle 3+ in melta range

@gokudragonheart3652 2 months ago

So I've heard you can make other characters out of the models from these boxes. I have a Sisters of battle box and the Armageddon box with the three Paragon War suits. I was wondering how you exactly use the battle sisters to make something like the palatine? I didn't know if there are some requirements such as certain weapons or a certain way I would have to paint one of them.

@gokudragonheart3652 2 months ago

Also, I absolutely love Ephrael Stern and was wondering is you would recommend getting her model.

I tend towards Sisters over dominions because of the sticky... but with recon options, I'm looking at the extra mobility of the dominions as being worth the difference
